To all Wolves... After much thought and consideration I have decided not to return to RK. The game as we know it is now dead, and as such I have thought it best to let Inanna die quietly now rather than try and force her into a community that so clearly does not want to be bothered with the hassle of having 2 teams to their own small minded game. The game has always been coded so that the “good guys” will hold all the power, and the recent changes have only accentuated that. RP no longer means anything. I can't tell you all how much this pains me. For well over a year I poured my heart and soul into Inanna and the Wolves of Sherwood, giving up far more of my time, effort and money than I care to admit. I tried to be here for each and everyone of you, not just as a leader but as a friend. At the end I got nothing but betrayal and hurt out of it from those I truly thought were my friends. It's all just a game, but for those of us who let the other players come close enough to touch our real lives, the pain of such events is hard to bear. I wanted nothing more for the Wolves than for them to be seen as the honourable “bad guys”, the group of players that knew how to have a laugh out of things, who could take it all in good spirit and have fun with the game. But for many of you, that was never enough, seeking to use the Wolves for exacting your own personal and petty revenge instead of playing the game, hurling abuse and insults at people both IC and OOC when things didn't go your way then trying to claim is was all just in character...in other words, it was sad to see so many of those that called themselves Wolves exhibiting exactly the same behaviour we so detested in the “good guys”. Well, as you reap, you will sow. As for the “good guys”, nothing will change that. It's clear that they would all rather be master of their sad empty towns and counties than to allow others with differing opinions around. I have always been of the mindset that those that seek roles of political power in RK are probably the loneliest and most pathetic bunch of people in real life, those that have so little self esteem in the real world that they seek to bolster their confidence by bullying people around in a make believe world where they never have to face the consequences of their actions. They hide behind the fact that the game is coded in their favour and instead claim righteousness and justice. If it makes them feel big that they can magically teleport people into jails, then let them have at it. It just shows how sad their real lives must be that it gives them such a thrill to earn titles such at the “Baroness of a Nasty Slum” and the “Earl of Grotty Industrial Estates” in a half-coded free to play computer game. I guess what I find most depressing after a year in this little kingdom is that given the open ended coding of the game, the community of players here has decided not to create some fantastic world full of imagination and creativity, but a world full of bureaucracy and boredom. Where people gather in their spare time to argue over the penalties for selling bread above a certain price, or hiring below a certain wage. The wallow in the spew of laws and regulations that they have themselves implemented in the game. In a world where those who rule could have almost total freedom, instead they have built their own prisons of red tape and bullshit. And that is such a pathetic statement about how mind bogglingly stupid and dull humanity can be...given the opportunity to create any type of society they want, they chose to make a copy of the one we live in, but more restricted, with less freedom, and certainly less kindness. Well, it's not a world I want to be part of any longer. From this day forward the Wolves of Sherwood are hereby under control of Moonbiter, the Wolf formerly known as Grendell. This is a decision reached after a long and heartfelt conversation with Dark Devil and I would ask those of you continuing with the Wolves to honour this. He embodies the true spirit of the Wolves and I wish him all the success in the world, though as a true child of Loki I doubt he'll need more luck. Grendell, my friend, thank you for all the friendship and support you have shown me. I know we haven't always seen eye to eye (understatement of the year!) but I know that you have and will always be striving for the best for the Wolves. For those of you that wish to remain in RK, I wish you luck. Personally I will be searching for another game, one where RP is part of the RPG, and where the forums are for weaving tales of imagination and wonder, not just a place for spewing hate at each other. I will be on msn from time to time, perhaps I will see some of you there. Until then, may the moon light your way until our paths cross again. Yours, ~Inanna
